Sooo, I'm writing this write now while I should be doing Bible homework. 8D
I haven't gotten Kadmus's story fully figured out, but I want to lay down the basics for you guys and get some opinions.
Kadmus comes from a secluded place (another planet, perhaps? or maybe some air pocket deep in the sea...though that is kind of Atlantisish?) that has its entirely own ecosystem. The ecosystem has no outside contact with humans, dogs, horses, or anything that was not in the ecosystem itself. Kadmus's species had an extremely tough hide that is stronger than, say, a rhino's...erm, no. Let's say that no man-made bullet could pierce it. Since the ecosystem that Kadmus lives in is its own and not like Earth's, all of the animals living there have extremely long lives. Kadmus's species, in particular, can live anywhere from 500 years to....well the oldest one was 895, and he died from being attacked by the big meateaters that roam their ecosystem.
Anyway, one day, humans discover their ecosystem and they want to take some of the animals back to Earth. There is a huge debate going on about this decision, because some people recognize that Kadmus and his kind may die because they've never been exposed to Earth's environment before. But the government wins out in favor of the excitement of what they may disover from studying the several species in Kadmus's world.
They take Kadmus and almost all of Kadmus's species to Earth, along with many other species. And, while Kadmus doesn't know it, back in his world, the humans took way too many of Kadmus's species and not enough of the big meateaters and so the rest of the Kadmuses are being slaughtered by the suddenly huge in comparison, population of meateaters. When they arrive on Earth, most of the species they brought back die. Kadmus himself falls extremely ill. But, due more to his own determination then to the human's help, he recovers. But he is left the only one of his species. Kadmus has never had any reason to hate before. And so the emotion feels strange to him, but he hates the humans. He attempts an escape, but is stopped by an electrified net that is thrown over him. So, when he is put back in his cage area, he collects his head and is able to formulate a plan. He watches the humans for weeks. He discovers their routine and one day manipulates it so that he is able to escape. When he is finally outside of the facility, he is in a hot desert place called New Mexico. So, thinking that he is the last of his kind, he starts running...
That's all I got so far. No, that's a lie...I've got more, but it's time for fucking school. I'll finish it after school.
